By Dianne Madison @ 1:45 PM :: 711 Views ::Article Rating

Sunday, January 30 starting @ noon
Including Gourmet Chili Cook-off!
We are in the process of making plans for our annual Chili Dinner and Auction. This early notification is to let you know about the kinds of donations which will help us have our best auction ever.
NEEDED! AUCTION ITEMS & CHILI
The Chili Dinner and Auction are a few months off - Sunday, January 30, but your help is needed now. Donations are now being sought for this event. New this year is an effort to obtain most of our donations or have notice of donations earlyl so that we can place an auction bill in the newspaper and print a listing of items for bidders. Donations may be brought to the office or fellowship hall early in January, preferably the first week or two. Now more than ever it would be helpful for us to know ahead of time what items we would be receiving. Please call the office to let us know or leave a note with Debbie or email your intended donation to gslschool@wi.rr.com. It will help in planning.

Suggestions for donations:
CHILI or chili ingredients, of course! We will give you more details on chili donations later.

And for the auction....

  • Check with your employers, often items are available from overstock or perhaps businesses have set aside items or money for such purposes.
  • Businesses you patronize that are unique or carry special lines might donate items of interest
  • Service oriented businesses can often donate certificates
  • Tickets to events
  • Theme baskets (these baskets are based ona  theme - baby; at the movies; beauty, etc - and made up of products on the theme. They range in value from $25 and up.)
  • Homemade items - baked goods, quilts, crafts
  • Artwork - especially framed and matted pieces
  • Antiques of any kind
  • Used items can also make good donations (they should be in good to excellent condition - no broken or non-working items please)

Please let us know of donations as soon as possible. Plan now on attending this fun filled event. Donation receipts are available for your records. Supporting funds are being provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans - Walworth County Chapter. The designated project being funded is our Tuition Assistance Programs and our General Operating Fund. Many families need our help this year with tuition and our school continues to rely heavily on donations in order to meet our operating budget.
